ON November 27, 2024, Chinatown TV reporters Shakespeare Go and Andrew See attended the “Seminar on Press Officers and Journalists for the Philippines” in Changsha, China.
The opening ceremony, sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and organized by Hunan International Business Vocational College, took place at Meinian Hotel 21.
Xu Qianya, project manager at Hunan International Business Vocational College, hosted the event and introduced leaders and guests before inviting participants to introduce themselves.
Liu Qi, from the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, emphasized Hunan’s prominent role in journalism and its valuable role in promoting media cooperation between China and the Philippines.
Tang Jin, Party Secretary of Hunan International Business Vocational College, noted that this was the fourteenth year the school organized such training, aiming to share insights into journalism management. Experts from Hunan’s top universities and enterprises led discussions during the program.
Student representative Reamon Ma. Theresa Malit expressed gratitude for the seminar and highlighted its potential to increase understanding of the role of press officers and journalists while strengthening media ties between China and the Philippines.
The fourteen-day training, which ran from November 27 to December 10, resulted in in-depth exchanges on journalistic practices and media management.
